Family On Lockdown Recreates Journey Music Video | I Love Classic Rock Videos

The Keller family with their MV recreation of Journey's Separate Ways - Raising Heller / Youtube

While the coronavirus lockdown has certainly laid everyone off their usual routines, the Heller family of Maple Valley, Washington made their time productive by recreating Journey’s
“Separate Ways”
music video down to the frame.

In an interview with Today, Steven Heller said, “When my wife came to me with the idea, my first thought was, ‘That sounds like a lot of work!” But he eventually bought into it, and the family followed suit, especially eldest child, 15-year-old Lily, who proved adept at picking out the clothes they should wear.”

He added, “We wanted to be able to, 10 years from now, say, ‘Remember when we were stuck in our home and we did this crazy thing and it was so much fun?’” The homemade music video was shot using iPhones and was edited by Steven, who has a video production background. Their version has since had 130,000 views at the time of writing, with Journey guitarist Neal Schon included in the statistics. Steven received a message from Journey’s tour photographer Mike Savoia, who told him that Schon and his wife loved it, to his amazement.
