In a nostalgic nod to the horror films that once dominated the shelves of video stores in the ’80s and ’90s, the Screambox original “Here For Blood” is set to unleash its heavy metal horror-comedy upon select theaters, digital platforms, and Screambox on February 9.

The storyline follows a struggling professional wrestler who, grappling with financial challenges

He reluctantly agrees to babysit a spirited 10-year-old girl. What begins as a casual night of junk food and video games takes a sinister turn when the secluded home becomes the target of a cult of mask-wearing maniacs, plunging the evening into a chaotic and bloody nightmare.

Shawn Roberts, known for his role in the “Resident Evil” franchise, takes center stage as the besieged babysitter. Adding a touch of macabre flair to the film is Dee Snider, frontman of TWISTED SISTER, who lends his iconic voice to a decapitated skull. The ensemble cast also includes Maya Misaljevic (“The Boys”), Joelle Farrow, Tara Spencer-Nairn, and Michael Therriault (“Chucky”).

Directed by Daniel Turres and penned by James Roberts, “Here For Blood” made a significant impact on the festival circuit. Its premiere at Toronto After Dark earned it six awards, including the coveted “Best Film To Watch With A Crowd.” The film continued its successful run at FrightFest (Glasgow and London), IFI Horrorthon (Ireland), and Ramaskrik (Norway).
