David Lee Roth, known for his dynamic tenure as Van Halen’s lead singer, has recently turned the spotlight towards other icons in the rock world. Through a video titled ‘Stalker’ on his YouTube channel, Roth freely expressed his opinions on Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, and Ozzy Osbourne, stirring the pot with his unique brand of humor and candidness.

Roth’s Humorous Take on Rock Counterparts and Ozzy’s Recollection

Roth opened his commentary with an intriguing viewpoint, “It was explained to me that if you’re going to learn aviation, anywhere’s near New York City, if you’re going to practice long-distance firearms with professional instructors, that if you’re going to learn EMT medical or tactical strength first aid, you will invite scrutiny. I hope so. If I find out Ozzy Osbourne is anywhere but in the first class cabin of an airplane, I want the FBI to check him out.” This statement not only throws light on Roth’s sense of humor but also subtly pokes fun at Osbourne’s larger-than-life persona.

The conversation did not end with Osbourne. Roth then directed his attention to Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Kid Rock, stating, “If I hear that the singer in Aerosmith and he’s got his wits about him, is thinking about flying, tell me where way in advance. If Kid Rock is even in the airport, I knew I would invite scrutiny. Plus my lifestyle [is] very different than the folks who smoke dead weed.” These comments reflect Roth’s playful jab at Tyler and Kid Rock’s lifestyles, indicating a stark contrast with his own.

Interestingly, Ozzy Osbourne had previously shared his thoughts on Roth as well. In a 2022 interview with Revolver, Osbourne reminisced about when Van Halen opened for Black Sabbath during the European leg of their Never Say Die! tour in 1978. He remarked, “[Eddie Van Halen] was such a great guy. They came to our local pub and it was good fun. But David Lee Roth, he’s lost a couple of nuts and bolts. When you meet him, it’s like, ‘What’s wrong with him?’ He’s like somewhere else, you know?” These words from Osbourne paint a picture of Roth as an enigmatic figure, even to fellow rock legends.

David Lee Roth’s Playful Barbs at Sammy Hagar

David Lee Roth’s candid expressions didn’t stop at these rock giants. Another music figure Roth recently addressed is Sammy Hagar, who succeeded Roth as Van Halen’s singer. Roth released a video on YouTube titled ‘Where Is David Lee Roth Director’s Cut?’ featuring a new song with lyrics that subtly critique Hagar: “Sammy Hagar’s not the same / You can drop that singer from extreme / But no matter where you walk around / There’s a little David everyone.” This lyrical jab hints at Roth’s view of his indelible impact on Van Halen and the rock genre at large.

Furthermore, Roth didn’t shy away from bringing up Hagar’s alleged experience with alien abduction, using it to needle Hagar with humor, “Sammy Hagar’s not the same / You can drop that singer from extreme / But no matter where you walk around / There’s a little David everyone.” This sarcastic take showcases Roth’s knack for blending humor with his unfiltered opinions, making for a memorable critique.

Through these comments and jibes, David Lee Roth continues to engage with the rock world in his unique way. His video ‘Stalker’ reveals his unapologetic stance and willingness to share his thoughts about other musicians, wrapped in his trademark humor.
