Musician Steven Van Zandt recently sparked a social media frenzy when he shared his personal ranking of top lead singers in response to a fan’s question on Twitter. The guitarist initially listed a few of his favorite vocalists, but the exclusion of certain notable names caused a mixed reaction among fans and followers. Eventually, the controversy grew to the point where Van Zandt felt compelled to delete his original tweet.

In an effort to address the concerns and feedback from his followers, Van Zandt expanded his list by incorporating additional names suggested by fans. Every request for a singer who had been overlooked led to another addition to the list. After a series of back-and-forth exchanges, the musician presented a comprehensive roster, attempting to include as many suggestions as possible.

However, the controversy did not end there. Once he unveiled his all-inclusive list, Van Zandt faced a new challenge when a fan asked him to rank female lead singers. Rising to the occasion, the rocker listed several renowned female artists, including Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, and others.

The original question from a fan inquired about Eric Burdon’s placement in Van Zandt’s top 10 lead singers, to which the musician responded with a list of names including Mick Jagger, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, and many more.

Despite Van Zandt’s efforts to appease his followers and accommodate their suggestions, it seems he is still struggling to finalize his favorite singers of all time. It appears that he will continue to add more names based on fan requests in the days to come.
