Watch Bruce Springsteen Perform ‘Come Together’ & ‘Born To Run’ – Amazing

Bruce Springsteen made his first 2022 concert engagement on April 24 to present longtime friend Jon Stewart with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In the event, Springsteen performed two classics: his very own “Born to Run” as well as The Beatles’ “Come Together.”

This wasn’t the first time the two had given praise with one another; in 2009, Stewart was the one who inducted the Boss at the Kennedy Center Honors, complimenting the musician for being a good friend, a father, and a legend. “The beautiful thing about this man,” Stewart told the crowd. “Is that he empties that tank for his family, he empties that tank for his art, he empties that tank for his audience, and he empties it for his country. And we, on the receiving end of that beautiful gift are ourselves rejuvenated, if not redeemed.”

Now, to thank his dear old friend, he dedicated two songs for him. Firstly, Springsteen performed the 1969 Abbey Road classic with musician Gary Clark Jr. Next up, he then began to perform the recognizable intro of his famous song, in an acoustic version.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts gives out the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to people who have “made an impact on American society in ways similar to” the humorous author.
