8 Mashups That Will Make You Thank The Internet | I Love Classic Rock Videos

Unbelievable!

You’ve surely had that moment when you thought one song sounds incredibly a lot like another. And while for us, we’re just mixing these tracks in our head, there are people who went out of their way to perfectly match them. At first you may think, these are pretty odd pairings. But we guarantee, these are exciting gems we found scattered on the worldwide web.

1. Queen VS AC/DC

This is perhaps one of our favorite 80s mashup. Maybe we can all take a moment to thank the person who has enough time on his hands to create something as exciting as this. And no, it’s not just Freddie Mercury and Brian Johnson here. Outkast, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, John Lennon, Prince, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin also had some special participation. It’s pretty much a cornucopia of rock acts. I swear we couldn’t stop grinning to this song. We were all like, ‘Who would have thought these would all go well together?” Can you imagine Angus Young sharing the spotlight with Jimmy Page as they face each other in a guitar duel? Can you even picture out Robert Plant belting it out alongside Snoop Dogg? Yes, it’s an unlikely match but dang it, it works. We’re so impressed and we loved every second of it. It’s too awesome!

2. Led Zeppelin VS Black Sabbath

This is one mash-up we’re so crazy about. This made all our metal and classic rock dreams come true. A collaboration between two legendary bands? Well as it happens, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are a match made in musical heaven. We just have to say – this is too good. What did we do to deserve this? It’s like a gift from the rock gods themselves although they probably haven’t heard this one yet. That intro is on another level. It’s sick and epic! This is one excellent piece of work. We can’t get over the part where Tony Iommi joins Jimmy Page – we can’t praise this enough. We know you secretly want them to form a supergroup – we’d love for that day to come too. It’s gonna be one heck of a performance if they shared the stage together. It’s way too mind-blowing. Our brains are finding it hard to process this.

3. Pink Floyd VS Bee Gees

Whoever thinks this stuff deserves a freaking medal. We don’t know how you do it but heck, we’d like to give you one big bear hug if we could. It only proves that someone out there has an impeccable taste in music. If you heard that the harmonies from “Stayin’ Alive” would sound so well with “Back in Black,” we’ve no doubt you’d be the first one to laugh at such an absurd idea. But when you start to listen to it, you realize it’s not even remotely funny. Bee Gees’ classic hit fits one of AC/DC’s signature songs like a glove. It should not work but it does. If someone pitched this idea to us, we’d be like “No way!” Then boom! That’s just brilliant. As a whole, it’s a masterpiece. This is definitely made by a musical genius and a very creative and imaginative one at that! Hats off!

4. Nirvana VS Michael Jackson

It’s yet another unlikely pair – grunge and pop? That’s pretty much like tea and tomato soap, it should stay as far away from each other as possible. But no, Mark Vidler and his Go Home Productions decided it was worth a shot. And here’s our verdict: it’s catchy, to say the least. That’s why we’re giving you a warning that this tune might get stuck in your head all day long. How did they even think of something like this let along mix it almost flawlessly? It’s kind of silly and we like it. With this great mix, we’ve no doubt these guys have awesome imagination. It’s brilliant from beginning to end although, it’s not exactly everyone’s cup of tea. But the more you listen to it, the more you enjoy it. It’s practically all over the place but hey, it’s not even supposed to work well but still did!

5. Pink Floyd VS Bee Gees

So how should we call this supergroup? Bee Floyd or Pink Bees? Well to be fair, there’s something about the tune and rhythm of “Stayin’ Alive” that makes it the perfect choice for mash-ups with classic rock hits. We don’t usually subscribe to these types of music mix because more often than not, it sounds hilarious. But apparently, the guys at the Wax Audio have a penchant for finding the perfect oddball pair. At the beginning, we’re always hesitant to click that ‘play’ button, thinking over and over how impossible it is for the songs to work or even blend together. Then, we’re proven wrong every single time. The song lyrics match up almost flawlessly too! We can’t say “brilliant” enough. Isn’t it sick just how good this is? These guys must be sharing a beer every time they come up with something like this. What a bunch of musical geniuses!

6. Led Zeppelin VS The Beastie Boys

At this point, we’ve heard so many unlikely pairings working very well together we thought we wouldn’t be surprised anymore. But after listening to this, we were like: “What kind of sorcery is this?!” Who’s crazy enough to think these two tracks could blend fantastically? So before you check this out, we recommend cranking up your volume on max. Your ears will thank us. You’re welcome. Then again, it’s never really loud enough especially with this mash-up of epic proportions. That smooth loop, though. Wow. When you hear Robert Plant’s trademark howl, it’s going to feel like you’ve just been propelled to rock heaven. Whoever made this must be so dang proud of himself. After all, it’s actually a musical masterpiece. This should be part of everyone’s road trip playlist and we sure wouldn’t mind putting it on repeat too. It’s kind of addicting that way. BRB as we listen to this for the nth time.

7. Thin Lizzy VS Pixies

Whoa there. What just happened? Did we hear two brilliant bands and their classic hits all in one amazing and flawless mash-up? Okay, wait. We need to process this because we still can’t seem to grasp how good this sounds. What else can we say about this mix of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back In Town” and Pixies’ “This Monkey’s Gone To Heaven?” It’s too awesome for words. It simply works, period. We can’t give enough thumbs up. This is like being torn between ordering grilled cheese or pasta. Then somebody offers you mac and cheese sandwiched between two delicious sourdough bread – it seems ‘meh’ at first but when you take that first bite and the gooey, cheesy sandwich hits your palate, it’s utter perfection. This blended piece of work is flawless – the guy responsible for such magnificent mash-up must have a dang good ear. This is too phenomenal!

8. Coldplay VS Bon Jovi

It doesn’t matter if you like Coldplay’s music or not, you can’t deny the fact that this is all sorts of awesome. We don’t know how to call this – maybe we’ll go for “Livin’ La Vida Loca?” LOL! We didn’t know what to expect here because while we know both songs, we had no idea if the tune would fit so well. You should see us clapping in approval and smiling like crazy – you know, the face you make when you find a lovely gem on the internet and you can’t help but be thankful to whoever thought of this insane idea. At one point, we were sort of bothered that it matches so well as if both bands knew someone would eventually do this! If you think it already sounds good, try listening at 1.25 speed. That’s like adding a cherry on top of your sundae. Yes, you’re welcome.
